The picture above is the Soyuz where Guy Laliberte, the founder of Cirque du Soleil, the Montreal circus and performing company, went into the space station in October. For the trip, he paid $35M as a space tourist.

Laliberte hired a Montreal communications company to track all the news published abiout hs trip. The conclusion is that it would have cost $592,425,679 to buy the same kind of advertising space. That is a 23X return on investment.

The trip was also used to highlight the work of his environment water foundation.

Laliberte brought each crew member of the International Space Station a clown nose to wear. He took two along for himself: a red, a yellow one- "the yellow one I will wear when I am a little grumpy, and the red one I will wear when I am happy and joyful." "
